After putting in quite a bit of work for each vector illustration, the Folly poster is finally finalized. Brad Mehldau’s music always makes me think of traveling–  due to the pacing of the music and the eventual build within each song, it makes me think of the preparation before one’s journey: setting out all the items for the upcoming trip. To visualize this mental image, I created vector illustrations of the essential elements one would bring on a trip (clothes, book, etc) and mixed them with the musical instruments the band member’s would be traveling with (keyboard, drums, stand-up bass). The eventual trip is symbolized in the movement of the cord from the headphones to the text it creates in the lower right portion of the poster.
